As not expected, the world-wide pandemic of COVID-19 has changed our common ways of living. Our normal teaching and learning activities have been negatively affected. However, we managed to pull through as we are fully operating under the new normal. The pandemic is roaming around us, the only way we can defeat it is to abide and ensure that everyone protects themselves, by doing so we protect ourselves and others. I urge all college staff members and students to continue practicing safety precautions in order to avoid the spread of COVID19 infections. Face masks are still obligatory in public contexts and physical distancing should be adhered at all times.
On the other hand, the college is fully migrating to blended learning. We are in the digital era; we intend to move with the trends so that we can operate smoothly in this fast changing environment. Evolution is a key for growth. The college is expanding its Information Communications and Technology (ICT) systems for the provision of effective online teaching and learning. Instant communication with no geographical barriers between lecturers and students will bring changes in the college.
We have managed to provide a large number of laptops to our lecturers, while on the other side the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has just delivered laptops for students. Therefore, online support use by the lecturers and students is encouraged.
In addition, the college aims to strengthen its corporate image, stakeholder and media relations by collaborating with various stakeholders in order to achieve its goals. I urge every employee and student to be a walking brand ambassador, so that our image can be enhanced and visible. Remember, charity begins at home.
In my concluding notes, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the college staff members within our operational sites for being firm and productive in this critical situation. Your whole-hearted effort is highly appreciated and it is unmeasurable, so as the Principal, I can never thank you enough. Let us
