GUIDELINES AND INSTRUCTIONS TO APPLY ONLINE USING CAPRICORN TVET COLLEGE WEBSITE: WWW.CAPRICORNCOLLEGE.EDU.ZA 

When Applying:

You should first complete Capricorn TVET College Learner Profiler; consisting of

  • Career guidance (1 of 1) 
  • Pre-entry test (all 8 pages) 

You must then complete the online application and upload the following documents:

  • Copy of ID 
  • ID copy of the next of kin 
  • Copy of recent results 
  • Proof of residence 

Note: PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THE PRE-ENTRY TEST IS COMPLUSORY 

  • The placement test is not necessarily for exclusion purposes, however to assist you to be. placed into appropriate programmes.  
  • Please follow instructions and answer honestly.  
  • Please do not forget to complete online application with the College. 
  • Do not let anyone else complete this Learner Profiler for you. 
  • Click finish button at the end of each question. 
  • Just remember to keep your username and password for future logins.

Capricorn TVET College allows online  registration only.

College Student Payment Methods and Procedure

The College payment procedure is outlined in the approved debt management policy.

Section 6.2 clause (b) of the Debt Management Policy states that;

Where a student has not been awarded a bursary, and has not paid for the fees in full, the student may make an arrangement to pay the outstanding amounts in a maximum of six (6) instalments.

a) All fees for year courses should be fully paid in a maximum of six (6) instalments with the final payment not being later than September of that year.

b) All fees for semester courses must be fully paid over three (3) months with the final payment being May for first semester and October for second semester; to enable the student to progress to the next level.

c) All fees for trimester courses must be fully paid with the final payment being March for first trimester, July for second trimester and October for third trimester.

d) Any student who is in arrears on his/her payment plan will not be permitted to re-register until the outstanding balance has been settled.

How to Pay

The College utilises one ABSA bank account no: 408 860 2743 for all student fees and hostel payments. Payment of fees may only be paid into the College bank account through EFT, ATM deposit or Teller deposit. Students are requested to use their ID Numbers as reference when making a deposit. The ID reference number will ensure that student deposits are allocated automatically on the financial statement. Students may request their financial statements from the Campus Finance office in order to verify that their payments are reflecting on their statements.

REGISTRATION PROCESSES

Registration Process

  1. The applicant write placement test at https://learnerprofiler.co.za/?c=cap21stl and apply on College admission portal through https://capricorn.coltech.co.za/ which result with Default Pending verification application status.
  2. The applicant will be moved from Pending Verification to Pending Review by the selection committee members after verifying the application and supporting documents. Should it happen that the applicant skipped Pre-Entry Test; the system will automatically convey the message with Email and SMS simultaneously containing Pre-Entry Test Link notifying the applicant to complete it.
  3. The Campus will share Successful Lists per Programme to Registration Unit at Central Office to send communique through SMS and Email using College Coltech Admission Portal to selected applicants.
  4. Successful Applicants will then be moved to Provisionally Accepted status by Central Office. The message stating the Programme, Date and Time to visit the campus for finalization of registration as well as the required documents will be sent to the applicant. The applicant will accept the offer and if the applicant fails to accept the offer within the stipulated time frame, the applicant will automatically be moved to Waiting List.
  5. After acceptance of offer by the applicant, the status will automatically be moved from Provisionally accepted to Pre-Enrolled.
  6. The applicant will visit the Campus to finalise registration with required supporting documents (Certified copies of student ID, Next of Kin ID, certified copy of results and original proof of residence).
  7. The Enrolment Officer at the Campus will register the Pre-Enrolled Applicant using Coltech as the Business Information Management System.
  8. The applicant status will be moved from Pre-enrolled to Registered.
  9. Private/self-paying Students will make payments at the bank/ EFT and submit proof of payment.
  10. All prospective Students need to apply for NSFAS/any other Funding within the stipulated time frames. Qualifying students provide evidence of being provisionally accepted from NSFAS/any funder while Students who have negotiated receive the financial agreement.
  11. Students should provide proof of payment before they may be issued with proof of registration. Students will sign the proof of registration and register.
  12. Students will receive  printed student cards.
  13. Students will attend induction and Orientation.
  14. Qualifying NSFAS beneficiaries will go to Student Support and apply for NSFAS allowances within a stipulated time frame.
  15. Students will receive books, timetable and attend classes as indicated on the Campus registration plan
  16. Any Registration queries are lodged at the Campus Student Support Office
