Took place at Polokwane Campus, Capricorn TVET College hosted a WorldSkills sendoff ceremony on Friday, 26 January 2024 for five (5) College students who will be participating in the 2024 National leg of the  World Skills competition from 01-03 February 2024 at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli Convention Centre, Durban in KwaZulu-Natal Province. The College will be represented by Mahlatsey Mongatane in the baking category and Tumie Magwele, Khuthatso Kotha, Kabelo Manganye and Tebatso Rangwanasha who will be competing in the mechatronics category.

In sharing his message of support, the Polokwane Campus Manager, Mr Thomas Muleya stated that the College has already set the trends and the competitors should not be shaken but be ready to shine at the National sphere. “We have been doing well in this competition as the College, one of our products has managed to reach the international competition that took place in Russia in 2017, so don’t be scared by other competitors. Don’t allow the stage fright to invade your competition space. Just go there and show them that you are the best”.

Mr Muleya also urged the student-competitors to stay focused when they arrive in Kwa-Zulu Natal. “We should be the first ones to be counted, therefore remain humble and ensure that you respect your mentors as well as the competition rules, so that you can represent the College and province of Limpopo very well”.

The team will leave the province to Kwa-Zulu Natal on Sunday, 28 January 2024. Capricorn TVET College fully supports you and is 100% behind you.
